Apple Valley Montessori School admits students of any sex, race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin or family structure to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Apple Valley Montessori School offers half-day Primary classes for children 3 to 6 years of age. Each class is staffed by a head teacher and a teacher's assistant and an extended day program three days a week for Kindergarteners and children who reach their 5th birthday during the school year.

Your child must be within the relevant age parameters to be enrolled in Apple Valley Montessori School. You will be required to submit a copy of the child's birth certificate to the administrator. Apple Valley Montessori School requires children be toilet trained prior to entrance.

All classes are multi-age, and the school will make every reasonable effort to balance each class with respect to age and gender.

The Admissions Process

1. Observation

Apple Valley Montessori School encourages parents (without children) to observe classrooms in session, meet the teachers and speak with the administrator.

2. Application

Interested families are encouraged to submit a completed application form promptly after observation. Applicants 5 years of age or older must submit a teacher reference and/or progress reports from their current school if applicable. When these materials are received, an interview appointment will be made.

3. Parent and Student Interview

The interview session is an informal way for prospective parents and the school representative to become acquainted with each other and to share pertinent information.

Primary children will explore the Montessori classroom materials with the guidance of a certified teacher. A child 5 to 6 years of age may be invited to spend a morning in a class at the request of the teacher. All prospective students will be informally assessed by an appropriate teacher and prior school records will be evaluated.

4. Enrolment

Apple Valley Montessori School makes admission decisions within 10 school days of the parent-student interview. Placement decisions are entirely at the discretion of the administrator. Once a child is accepted, it will be necessary to complete the enrolment contract and submit any health information required by state law. Acceptance of placement in the program is confirmed by the submission of a signed enrolment contract and payment of a non-refundable $250.00 tuition deposit.
